About
A Centennial of Quantum Theory: From the Basics to Modern Quantum Technology
In celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, declared by UNESCO to mark 100 years since the birth of quantum theory, Tel Aviv University will host a workshop highlighting Israel’s unique contributions to the field.
The event will explore both the foundational principles of quantum mechanics—such as measurement, entanglement, and nonlocality—and cutting-edge quantum technologies including quantum computing, sensing, and communication. Special emphasis will be placed on the interplay between theoretical insights and innovations, with a tribute to pioneering Israeli researchers like Prof. Yakir Aharonov and Prof. Lev Vaidman, whose groundbreaking work on weak measurements, interaction-free measurements, and quantum nonlocality has shaped the global landscape of quantum science.
The Location
The Quantum center building, Tel Aviv University
The centennial year is an excellent opportunity to pause and connect the past, present and a future international conference that will expose the activities of quantum centers in Israel to researchers from around the world, on the one hand, and on the other hand, will allow Israeli students and researchers direct interaction with leading researchers from around the world.
